Hmong Culture Night (HCN) is HASA's annual cultural show which displays aspects of Hmong culture and tradition through various performances such as storytelling, singing, dancing, and acting. In the past several years, HCN has continued
to gain more and more popularity throughout the midwest due to its continued success. We hope to continue this tradition, and in doing so, we cordially invite you and any guests to come and enjoy the show. We are able to continue putting this show on year after year because of the tremendous supporters of higher education of the Hmong community. Coordinating HCN is always an adventure, and we hope that you will continue to come and support and explore it with us!
The theme for this year's HCN 09 is linking the Past to the Present titled, 'Hmoob Lub Neej Yog Lub Neej Hmoob'. While adapting to today's rapidly evolving world, many Hmong students continue to keep a level of their Hmong identity and culture with them, and because of this, the show will be focusing on older traditions a long with newly modernized ones. In working with the community this year, HASA has been able to bring in several community performances as well, complementing the UW students' performances.
This is one show you won't want to miss! Admission is free and all are welcome! Again, thank you for your support and we will see you there!
*If you are interested in performing or participating in HCN, please contact HASA through email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
