The Hmong American Student Association (HASA) from the University of Wisconsin - Madison cordially invites you and your friends and family to our annual conference on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Grainger Hall in Madison, Wisconsin. Our theme this year is "Invisible Struggles: Through the Eyes of Hmong Americans".
HASA will be bringing in speakers who will discuss the struggles of Hmong Americans regarding education, tradition, and politics. These speakers will share their stories about their experiences, achievements, and failures, which have helped them become who they are today. They will be presenting on the struggles many Hmong Americans face when striving to achieve their dreams and when integrating into mainstream American society with the Hmong culture.
Each speaker will be presenting on different topics that may be of interest to you. We have speakers who are teachers, professors, doctors, politicians and artists; each coming from their own background and experiences, and with their own stories to tell.
After our conference, we will be holding a banquet with Professor Her Vang as our keynote speaker. For this banquet, there is a limit of approximately 175 seats, therefore, we ask that you register online to reserve your seat. The registration link can be found at the end of the page. Please include your name and city, school, or association. The Banquet is now closed.
This is an open and FREE event to all so please invite your friends and family! We look forward to having you join us.
